Tools of the Trainer

As a Trainer, you'll use many important tools. These tools help you track Pokémon, communicate with other Trainers, and carry out other tasks central to the life of a Trainer.

The Pokédex

Very early in your adventure, you'll receive the Pokédex, one of the most important tools you'll use. The Pokédex is a device that automatically records every Pokémon you encounter.

C-Gear

The C-Gear lets you communicate with other Trainers, as well as a number of other functions, using a variety of communication methods.

Xtransceiver

Players with Nintendo DSi™ (or Nintendo DSi XL™) systems can use the Xtransceiver to talk with up to three other friends via video chat!

The Wonder Launcher

Before now, you couldn't use items during Link Battles. In Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, the Wonder Launcher will let you do just that!
